A collaboration between Hjørring Municipality, VUC & HF Nordjylland, and Hjørring Private Realskole has now resulted in a beautiful new stadium with an associated sports center - one of Denmark's most sustainable of its kind.

The old stadium in Hjørring was worn out and dilapidated and not very inviting, especially for out-of-town clubs that came to play at the stadium.

A collaboration between Hjørring Municipality, VUC & HF Nordjylland, and Hjørring Private Realskole has now resulted in a beautiful new stadium with an associated sports center – one of Denmark's most sustainable of its kind. It was important with such a large (and expensive) construction project that sustainability and energy savings were paramount.

LITE A/S, in collaboration with electrical installer Erik Lytzen, has been responsible for all energy-saving lighting for Femhøje Sports Center.

The first thing you encounter outside the sports center is LITE A/S's park lamps, HERA, and bollards called Flat Top - these beautifully illuminate outdoor walkways, so that you can safely walk outside, while the light highlights the beautiful architectural building.

When you step inside, you experience the lounge area with high ceilings. Here, the BADO pendant lights up as an additional architectural decoration in the room. BADO provides optimal light distribution and prevents glare. BADO is also available as a surface-mounted lamp (BADO SURFACE) – these are installed in the lounge and canteen area with low ceilings and provide a soft light for dining guests and the employees in the sports center.

Inside all corridors, FLOW Downlight is installed, built into the ceiling. FLOW Downlight provides a pleasant, frosted light without glare. FLOW has won the Product Design Award 2012, among other things.

The sports center has several meeting/teaching/conference rooms – all are fitted with PANEL LIGHT B 60x60, which provides pleasant light. The panels also provide a greater spatial effect, as the panel lies flat with the ceiling. The panel is dimmable and installed with daylight control, so the light inside is adjusted to the light outside. In addition to this control providing a better experience inside, there is also a noticeable saving in energy consumption.

Likewise, PANEL LIGHT B 60x60 has been installed in the changing rooms as a surface-mounted lamp.

In the toilets, it has been chosen to do a little extra with the lighting than usual. The wall lamp, WING, which has a simple and minimalist design decorates the raw and rustic wall. The possibility of adjusting the light beam from narrow to wide both at the top and bottom makes the lamp very decorative, and gives the wall a beautiful lighting effect.
